The Museum

The marble statue blinks in the glare
of the camera flashes, turns to address
the tour group, moistens its lips, begins
to say something, hesitates (as if carefully
choosing its words), then thinks the better
of it. Silence suffices. Nothing is revealed.

Further out in the museum’s spacious square,
a flock of pigeons flaps as one in sudden flight
on beams of golden late day light.

Throughout the museum’s maze-like corridors,
groups of humans still mill about curiously, each
beguiled with subjective interpretations on sense
and conceptual data, all compellingly modified
with customized interior analysis.

Beyond the museum’s translucent dome
uncharted nebulae tumble through space,
while tourists meander absently along
through numberless lit dimensions.

Though frequencies of information
persist and proliferate, how quiet
it now becomes as the museum
closes its doors for the night!

Only the statues still proffer orations
in their spectral vibratory tones.

Innocently, everything reveals
itself as it is, with no need
for any interpretation.

Beyond that,
silence suffices.
