Shiva sets aside his universal knowledge,
gets a telemarketing job in Duluth.

On a smoke break, he sees a flock of birds
trailing slowly across the sky.

He feels a rush of sudden tears.
It’s a visceral thing.

His gaze returns to the freeway traffic
across from the company parking lot.

Now, it all seems like a dream.
Suddenly, he remembers.
